Left 4 Dead 2 boycott keeps growing
The infamous boycott group continues to grow, over 40000 enlist to support the cause
There are currently 41,137 members who have joined the L4D2 Boycott group, which formed not long after E3 back on June 2nd. This marks quite a milestone for the group who have been steadily increasing in members since it's creation. They seek to get answers from Valve and have responded to certain amounts of criticism from outside the group (e.g. from Adam Sessler). So far the response from Valve has been minor. L4D has not received much in the way of updates, it has had "improved" matchmaking and just recently the ability to browse very crudely the L4D lobbies and the welcome addition of browsing downloadable maps. Valve have not announced any more content for L4D at this stage so I doubt we will see any more campaigns for L4D.
It's been well over a month now for the news of L4D2 to sink in, Chet and the crew from Valve have done their best to answer questions and calm the situation but have continued to push the notion of sequel that offers little more in the way of content. For those unaware L4D2 features 4 new characters in 5 new campaigns in new orleans, it also features a few new weapon skins, melee weapons and a new boss - the charger. It's a hard pill to swallow for people used to Valve supporting games so well post release and taking their time with their other games (it's been 21 months since the release of Episode 2). Valve rarely disappoint their fans but it seems they have certainly done so with L4D2.
