Final Fantasy XV release date set
Demo available tonight, special editions revealed for upcoming RPG
Square Enix have revealed new details about the upcoming RPG, Final Fantasy XV.
The publisher confirmed that the game will release worldwide on September 30th. A free demo is now available that offers a glimpse into the final game to a fragmented dreamscape of Noctis as a child. This storyline is unique to the demo and will not be available in the final version of the main game. Players who complete the demo will unlock the exclusive Carbuncle summon DLC for the full game at launch.
Final Fantasy XV is available for digital pre-order tonight. For a limited time, pre-order purchasers will receive Noctis Special Outfit and Carbuncle pet for Xbox Avatars (Xbox One) and a Dynamic PS4 theme for PlayStation 4 players.
There will also be special editions. The Day One Edition ($59.99) includes the game, a Masamune DLC weapon; and two Xbox One Avatars / Dynamic PS4 theme. Meanwhile the Deluxe Edition ($89.99) has all Day One Edition content plus an exclusive dual disc steelbook containing the game and KINGSGLAIVE movie Blu-ray, Platinum Leviathan Regalia design, and access to the Royal Raiment costume DLC.
Lastly, the Ultimate Collector’s Edition (available exclusively on the Square Enix Online Store for $269.99) has all Deluxe Edition content plus exclusive disc steelbooks containing the Official Soundtrack, BROTHERHOOD Blu-ray (containing an exclusive sixth episode), hard-cover artbook, an exclusive limited edition variant Noctis PLAY ARTS -KAI- action figure, and in-game item packs.
Also announced is KINGSGLAIVE: FINAL FANTASY XV, a CG movie presented by Sony Pictures Entertainment and Square Enix. The animated feature will set the stage for the main game narrative. The CG movie features an all-star cast with Sean Bean voicing Regis, the King of Lucis who has sworn to protect his kingdom, Lena Headey voicing Luna, the princess who has been entrusted to deliver the royal ring of Lucis to Prince Noctis, and Aaron Paul voicing Nyx. The movie will be released digitally worldwide before the game’s launch.
Final Fantasy XV will be available on September 30th 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
