Release date set for Homefront: The Revolution
Open world shooter coming in May
Deep Silver today announced that Homefront: The Revolution will be releasing on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 17, 2016. Other territories will receive the game three days later. Gamers can register for the closed beta, available only on the Xbox One.
Homefront: The Revolution is an open world shooter set in 2029 within an occupied Philadelphia. The Korean People’s Army have invaded and impose a strict military rule over the area. Broken into zones—Green, Red and Yellow—the civilian populace plan to hit back against the occupied force and retake their country.
The game was originally in development under Crytek, but the franchise was sold to Deep Silver in the middle of 2014 after financial difficulties. Fortunately a large portion of the developers made the transition during the sale and continued to work on the game.
