Embark Studios Details ARC Raiders 2025 Updates and 2026 Roadmap

Posted by nutcrackr on

Embark Studios has confirmed detailed post-launch plans for ARC Raiders, including several “bigger” updates scheduled before the end of 2025 and a complete content roadmap planned for 2026. The extraction shooter, developed by Embark and published by Nexon, will launch on October 30, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

On October 25, Executive Producer Aleksander Grondal discussed ARC Raiders on episode 81 of the Friends Per Second podcast. Around two hours and four minutes into the episode, Grondal described the studio’s post-launch strategy as “ambitious.” He confirmed that Embark plans to release updates that include new maps, additional ARCs, new quests, and system improvements, along with ongoing balancing and quality-of-life changes; all of which are scheduled to arrive before the end of 2025.

Embark stated that ARC Raiders will not adopt the seasonal release model common among live-service games. The studio plans to deliver new content when development milestones are met, rather than on predetermined dates. This approach is a calculated gamble, prioritizing fully developed and substantial updates over a fixed, recurring schedule.

During the same podcast, Grondal mentioned that the map Stella Montis could receive new content before Christmas 2025. Stella Montis is one of five maps featured at launch, together with Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, The Spaceport, and Blue Gate. The map was not available during the recently concluded “Server Slam” playtest. Grondal explained that its revision is part of the “bigger updates” expected before the end of the year.

After the Server Slam test, Embark confirmed several gameplay adjustments for launch, including nerfs to the Flying ARCs. The studio also stated that it is “looking into” graphical differences identified between the Server Slam and Technical Test 2. Embark further stated that it has no plans to add a first-person mode, calling the feature “very implausible.”

Grondal also addressed how ARC Raiders fits within Embark’s current lineup. He stated that its release will not affect The Finals, Embark’s free-to-play shooter released in December 2023. Both titles are handled by separate internal teams that share resources and technical expertise. While The Finals uses a seasonal structure, ARC Raiders will rely on flexible, readiness-based updates.

In a separate interview with YouTuber Skill Up, published in late October, Grondal reiterated that Embark aims to “keep things updated on a consistent basis” with new content, maps, arcs, quests, and systems. He confirmed that “a couple of bigger updates” are planned before the end of the New Year period and that Stella Montis may receive new content before Christmas. Grondal explained that the official content roadmap is still in progress because “things are a bit in flight.” He added that the first complete roadmap, focused on 2026, will be finalized and shared in the coming weeks.

Embark has previously said it considers ARC Raiders a long-term project that could extend across ten years of development. The studio has chosen not to publish early roadmaps to avoid possible changes to planned content. When ARC Raiders arrives on October 30, the Standard Edition will cost $39.99 and the Deluxe Edition $59.99. The release will support complete crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, bringing players from every platform together in shared matches.
