250 years is a long time to wait between video game launches. So to catch fans of the Guild Wars franchise up on the marriages, new races, unexpected alliances and dark forces that haunt Tyria, NCsoft and ArenaNet are releasing Ghosts of Ascalon, the first novel in the Guild Wars book series written by Matt Forbeck and Jeff Grubb.
Ghosts of Ascalon takes place a year before the start of Guild Wars 2, and deals with, among other things, the tentative truce between man and charr.
The book, originally announced early this year, will hit retail on July 27. In the meantime, eager fans can learn more about the novel on the official Ghosts of Ascalon page on July 15. The page will feature an excerpt of the novel, information on the In-Book Map Graphic and a downloadable wallpaper featuring the novel’s cover art.
Additionally, the website will link to Jeff Grubb’s blog post detailing the process of writing Ghosts of Ascalon.
