Updates to Left 4 Dead have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted, as usual. One of the most noted features included in the patch is the introduction of the much-requested 4vs4 Versus matchmaking which will finally allow competitive teams of 4 to find likeminded opponents rather than a group of random players.

Full Patch notes are:
  • Fixed a crash related to a Crash Course achievement
  • Fixed an issue were bots and computer controlled special infected were being reported via “View Game Info”
  • Added Team Versus 4 on 4 competitive matchmaking
Early reports are suggesting the feature works properly, though surely there is still alot of community who has not tried the patch and issues could still arise.

Left 4 Dead has taken alot of criticism over lack of content, and with the arrival of Left 4 Dead 2 it is nice to see Valve is still delivering on their promises to patch the original game. Though, in this particular case, it may be a little too late to fix such an obvious and much-demanded feature since the game’s launch.
