New Dispatch Update Fixes H4ck3d by R0b3rt Trophy and Sweet Exit Rules

Posted by nutcrackr on

Dispatch’s latest update introduces several changes that affect Episode 7’s romance outcomes and multiple achievements that were not functioning as intended. The update fixed a recurring issue that caused one of Episode 7’s scenes to appear for many players regardless of which romance path they were pursuing.

Since Dispatch’s early episodes, players have been divided between two romance options: Blonde Blazer (Courtney) and Invisigal (Mandy). Although romance choices in similar games are typically straightforward, this decision has split the community because both characters serve as potential matches for Robert. Despite this, many players aiming for a Blonde Blazer playthrough continued to trigger a key Episode 7 scene involving Invisigal. The issue persisted until the most recent update, prompting the studio to adjust the underlying system.

The scene in question occurs in SDN’s locker room during Episode 7, where Robert and Invisigal talk, and it is revealed that Courtney used to work for Shroud. The interaction ends with a goodbye kiss between Robert and Invisigal. This moment is intended for players pursuing that romance, but it frequently appeared in Blonde Blazer runs, creating outcomes that players did not intend to roll the dice on.

The reason was tied to a hidden counter called “Sweet Exit,” referenced by zero-sum games, which measured certain dialogue choices. Previously, the counter required only five points to trigger the kiss. As a result, players often reached that total through standard dialogue paths, even when they had not pursued a date with Invisigal. The new update changes that requirement. According to a post by Redditor DANKSPARTAN_69, the patch includes “conditional outcome tuning to balance character relationships in episodes 7 & 8,” raising the requirement from five points to ten. This adjustment creates a clearer threshold, reducing unintended outcomes and preventing the game from dealing players a result they did not intend.

Alongside the romance fix, the update resolves the broken H4ck3d by R0b3rt trophy, an issue that prevented players from unlocking it despite meeting the conditions. The achievement requires completing every hacking segment without failing. The bug affected PlayStation players in particular because it blocked the associated Platinum trophy. AdHoc Studio confirmed the fix on November 19, 2025, stating, “Hi Basil90ar! A patch went live today. If you were having issues with the H4ck3d by R0b3rt achievement you should receive it upon starting the game or switching to the save slot with that data if you did the requirements. Thank you for your patience!” With this update, players who previously fulfilled the requirements will automatically receive the achievement upon launching the game or switching to the applicable save file.

The November 19 update also repairs the Min Max achievement, which now unlocks properly when a hero’s stat is upgraded to 10 with a random point. Additional fixes include safeguards that prevent save files from being overwritten when data fails to load, adjustments that address low-level crashes and a Fatal Error! on launch, and a fix for a crash related to antivirus interactions in Hacking levels. The patch resolves a softlock in the first gameplay shift of episode 8 and corrects issues in the Flight School Hero Training scenario affecting heroes with already upgraded powers. It also improves waveform matching displays in certain Hacking levels and applies minor audio, visual, and localization fixes across the season.

Beyond technical updates, Dispatch continues to receive attention for its broader success. The episodic, choice-driven game has been praised for its story, characters, and meaningful decisions and features a cast including Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey, Erin Yvette, and others. The game’s popularity helped it earn a nomination for Best Debut Indie Game at the 2025 Game Awards in December. AdHoc Studio co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Pierre Shorette has stated that the team has not ruled out a second season, though no confirmation has been made.
