Smartglass: yey or nay?

Postby Captain_Mark87 » Mon Jan 20, 2014 10:25 am

Just got an XbOne and played and finished Dead Rising 3 this past weekend. I didn't use the smartglass app and am considering another playthrough to clear up achievements, and I'll probably use it this time around. What I'm wondering is what you guys think of it? Have you used it much so far? Can you see it developing a decent lifespan, maybe becoming a new standard feature in gaming?

It seems like a pretty neat idea personally, and I think by introducing its capabilities in a non compulsory manner, the idea will slowly get sold to gamers as the norm.

Never owned an iPad-like device and can't say I've missed out on anything.

These devices mostly act as a second screen, although most recently I know Dead Rising 3 has abilities that you can only use with Smartglass. Not cool, Capcom

The SmartGlass stuff in Dead Rising 3 isn't gamebreaking if you do or don't have it tbh, and I experimented with it last night and it's pretty cool. Most people these days at least have a smartphone if they don't have a tablet and you can download the app for free on either.

True enough, but I guess I haven't yet found a need to use it.
