Sony to offer some consolation for Holiday outage
Publisher will offer a few free days of PS+ and a discount code
Following problems on the PlayStation Network during the holidays, Sony has announced it will be offering a few bonuses to users as a means of apology.
All PlayStation Plus members that had an active membership or free trial on December 25th will be granted a membership extension of five days. The extension will be automatically applied, so no action is necessary to receive the extension. If your membership or trial ends before the extension is available, you will receive five days of Plus to enjoy once the extension becomes available.
In addition, sometime this month and for a limited time, the company will be offering a 10 percent discount code good for a one-time discount off a total cart purchase in the PlayStation Store. This code will be provided to all PSN members, and is promised to be good for any content on the PS Store, from games to movies and TV.
Both the PSN and Xbox Live experienced outages last week during an apparent DDoS attack.
