Publisher Bethesda Softworks confirms the sequel no longer in development

Bethesda Softworks has officially confirmed that Prey 2 is no longer in development.

First announced back in 2011, Prey 2 was later delayed in 2012 and was still in development as of that year. However, we haven't heard about the game since then. At PAX Australia, Bethesda vice president Pete Hines has confirmed the cancellation to CNET.

"It was game we believed in, but we never felt that it got to where it needed to be - we never saw a path to success if we finished it. It wasn't up to our quality standard and we decided to cancel it. It's no longer in development."

Prey 2 was originally planned for release on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. We had a chance to see the game back at E3 2011, when it was an impressive concept.
