Sony Computer Entertainment today announced a new PlayStation 3(PS3) computer entertainment system, featuring a new design and a downsized form factor, will become available worldwide this holiday season.

The new PS3 will be available in two different models, with 250GB and 500GB HDDs. It also features a smaller, streamlined design as the new model is approximately 20% smaller and 25% lighter than the current PS3.

In North America, the new 250GB PS3 will be available on September 25th for $269.99 as part of a limited edition bundle featuring Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception Game of the Year Edition.
