Xbox Live for Windows 8 details


First Titles Announced, app will come pre-installed with the OS

Earlier this year Microsoft announced that Xbox is coming to Windows 8. Now, Xbox has announced support from Microsoft Studios, Rovio, Miniclip, Gameloft, ZeptoLab, Glu Mobile, Halfbrick Studios, and others to bring Xbox games to Windows 8.

The first wave will include 29 titles from Microsoft Studios, some of which will be exclusive to Windows 8. Many games will be available starting October 26th with ongoing new releases coming through the Christmas period and beyond.

Xbox games will be found in the preinstalled Windows 8 Xbox Games app and available in the Windows 8 Store. In addition, all Xbox games for Windows 8 will have Xbox Achievements, and many will also take advantage of other Xbox features, including leaderboards, multiplayer modes and connecting with friends, and more.

The initial release list includes 4 Elements II Special Edition, A World of Keflings, Adera: Episodes 1-3, Angry Birds, Angry Birds Space, Big Buck Hunter Pro, BlazBlue Calamity Trigger, Collateral Damage, Crash Course GO, Cut the Rope, Disney Fairies, Dragon's Lair, Field & Stream Fishing, Fruit Ninja, Gravity Guy, Gunstringer: Dead Man Running, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, IloMilo, iStunt 2, Jetpack Joyride, Kinectimals Unleashed, Mahjong, Minesweeper, Solitaire Collection, Monster Island, PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX, Pinball FX 2, Reckless Racing Ultimate, Rocket Riot 3D, Shark Dash, Shuffle Party, Skulls of the Shogun, Taptiles, Team Crossword, The Harvest HD, Toy Soldiers Cold War, Wordament, Zombies.
