Now that Crysis 2 has been released, to the dismay of some PC Players, the graphics options are extremely limited. Users are required to manually adjust settings in configuration files if they wish to customize their visuals.
Now, thanks to a crafty member of the Steam forums Wasdie, a tool has become avaliable that lets PC players unlock and customize Crysis 2 graphic options.
The small tool, already at version 1.4, allows users to easily modify their graphical settings in Crysis 2, from motion blur to AA support. The program then generates a simple auto-startup config script which sets the desired options each time the game is launched.
The tool can be downloaded from the official thread. Crysis 2 is now in stores for PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3.
This has little to do with any user agreement violations. It's not a hack, it's just a program that lets users customize their config file via a GUI interface (instead of editing a text file with settings)
Nice to see community forming up around the game so rapidly. I'm just in dismay since I feel that this probably violates some EULA. Sony is setting a scary precident for what may be legal to do to your game.
